Beer and Hop Festival

Saturday September 16th

10 a.m. - 6 p.m.: Exhibition Tournée Locale in the Hop Museum
Feast your senses and explore the Westhoek as a beer region. This exhibition focuses on famous and less famous breweries.

Entrance included in ticket Hop Museum.

1 a.m. – 6 p.m.: Exhibition Vive Labeur in the Guest house chapel

Exhibition about the Chinese contribution during WWI with pictures taken by Stephan Vanfleteren and Sanne Dewilde.

2 p.m. – 8 p.m.: Lekker Westhoeks
During these two days, Poperinge presents the best delicacies it has to offer in a colourful tented village. A cosy and warm family event with beer and beer culture as central themes. Taste the delicious Belgian beers, the local dishes and enjoy the various activities for young and old.

3 p.m.: Tattoo in the city centre
On Saturday afternoon, several brass bands will fill the central streets of Poperinge with cheerful tunes. Coming from several directions, the bands will march towards the Paardenmarkt.

4 p.m.: Tattoo show on the Paardenmarkt

After the tattoo in the central streets, the brass bands assemble on the Paardenmarkt. They each give a performance. At about 5.30 p.m., all brass bands play together. This musical highlight ends at 6 p.m.

7.30 p.m.: Performance L&A Band in the marquee (access with ticket Hop Queen Election).

9 p.m.: Hop Queen Election

Two groups of three ladies each compete for the much desired crown and sceptre. The winning Hop Queen and her ladies of honour will be the ambassadors of the city for three years. Several performances will turn the election into an incredible party.

12.30 p.m. – 2.30 a.m.: After party with a DJ.
